Hardwire for iOS
Common questions
I bought Premium but it isn't showing up
In the app, go to Settings → Premium → Hardwire Premium, then tap Restore purchases on the screen that opens. Premium is a one-time purchase tied to your Apple Account, so it restores on any device signed in with the same account. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple Account you bought it with.
If Premium is already active, that same Settings section shows Status: Unlocked instead.
Is Premium a subscription?
No. It's a single purchase that never expires. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel.
My widget isn't updating
Widgets refresh on their own schedule, which iOS controls — it can lag by a few minutes. Opening the app forces a refresh. If a widget stays blank, remove it from your Home Screen and add it again.
The timer stopped when I left the app
It didn't. iOS doesn't let apps run timers in the background, so the remaining time is calculated from when the session started rather than counted tick by tick. Come back and the countdown will be exactly where it should be. The Live Activity on your Lock Screen keeps showing it while you're away.
My streak looks wrong after travelling
Days are tracked by calendar date, not by elapsed hours, so crossing a time zone shouldn't break a streak. If you think one was lost incorrectly, email us with the dates and we'll look at it.
How do I get my data out?
Settings → Your data → Export my data writes everything you've created to a plain JSON file you control. Settings → Delete all data erases it permanently from the device.
Can I sync between my iPhone and iPad?
Not yet. Everything is stored locally on each device today. Sync is planned but not shipped, and this page will say so when it is.
A quote is misattributed or reads badly
Tell us which one. Attributed quotes come from public-domain source texts and are cited by book and section, but mistakes are possible and we'd rather fix them than leave them. You can also rate quotes up or down in the app — that feedback is what shapes the library over time.
Privacy
Hardwire has no account and no server storing what you write. The full policy is at the privacy policy page.
